Netsolutions Appoints New General Manager

In March of this year, Netsolutions appointed Erin Harte as General Manager.

Erin is tasked with helping to grow the business through a consultancy based approach. He will be responsible for developing a new sales strategy to enable Managing Director, Theo Dimopoulos more time to work on the business.

Prior to Netsolutions, Erin was General Manager at GGI, a technology investment company. He also spent three years as General Manager for DMZGlobal, a provider of managed network and data security services to companies in the corporate, government and banking sectors.

“Netsolutions has an excellent reputation for offering customers valued consultancy and a depth of experience that is unrivalled in the industry. Juniper Networks and IBM are key partners for Netsolutions and part of my role will be to ensure that we maximise future opportunities in the market through continuing to work closely together,” said Erin.

Netsolutions Welcomes Richard Savage as Principal Consultant

Richard Savage also joined Netsolutions in March as Principal Consultant. Richard, an IT security specialist joins the company from Juniper Networks where he was Senior Systems Engineer. He was responsible for developing networking and security solutions for major enterprise accounts and strategic service provider customers.

“Netsolutions has an enviable customer base and I’m looking forward to working with some of these organisations to see how we can add further value through our consultancy approach. It’s important, particularly in the current economic climate, that an IT infrastructure supports the business and helps drive efficiencies rather than challenges it, so I’ll be looking to see where we can help our customers achieve this through making key changes to their IT design and architecture,” said Richard.

Richard has also held senior roles at Sytec, an IT professional services company in New Zealand where he specialised in security technologies, Internet technologies and IP architecture.

“We are very pleased to welcome Erin and Richard to the team. Together, they have over forty years of experience in the IT industry and are well known in their respective fields. They both support our consultancy led approach and will be a great asset to Netsolutions as we look to take further market share this year,” said Founder and Managing Director, Theo Dimopoulos.

Netsolutions Security Management Service

Helping our customers to Minimise Risk

Network security means no short-cuts. There are no silver bullets. There is only one way.

With 10 years of security management, network management & audit experience, Netsolutions have established 5 top challenges that managers face when it comes to securing the network.

1. Where do you start to achieve maximum results?
2. How do you deal with conflicting management priorities, responsibilities and expectations?
3. What do you do about conflicting expert advice - “talkers versus doers”?
4. How do you identify, acquire and maintain the right skill sets and tools?
5. How can you get expert advice, all the time, not just after a spotlight has been shone onto your area?

Taking these challenges into account Netsolutions has established a Security Management Service which provides customers with:

• Expert advice, design and management
• Security event correlation
• PCI-DSS reporting
• Internal and external vulnerability scanning with delta identification & remediation
• Service Levels, responsibilities and commitments defined
• Auditor engagement

A network with integrated security is a business enabler. The Netsolutions Security Management Service is designed to make security a strategic asset.
We supply the tools, skill sets, visibility, process & insight to position you as a leader and minimise your risk. We don’t just advise, we listen, commit, own and succeed.

Events - Q2 2009

Netsolutions Enterprise Seminar Series 2009

To kick off our seminar series for 2009,  Netsolutions hosted a breakfast seminar in the Garden Rooms of the Crown Complex. The focus of the seminar was on Network Security and PCI Compliance.

The seminar was a great success attracting organisations from a range of industries including retail, financial, business services, petroleum and energy.

Matthew Hackling, the Account Director for Deloitte Security & Privacy Services, presented on the PCI-DSS standard, the parties involved, compliance validation requirements for merchants, impact of the standard, and offered a pragmatic approach to compliance and the common pitfalls experienced by merchants.

Principal Consultant for Netsolutions, Richard Savage, explained the current trends in Network Security for 2009. It is important to understand the shift in requirements, the huge increase and diversity of threats, implement network security and address all layers, take control of visibility, reporting and response and implement structured test and acceptance processes.

Netsolutions and Juniper Networks are assisting customers in protecting their network through developing a comprehensive secure network architecture. Junipers network security solution portfolio helps IT managers protect users, devices, and data against threats, while providing secure access to network resources and meeting compliance requirements. Juniper’s architecture for PCI compliance provides a robust end-to-end compliance solution to properly protect sensitive cardholder data and to protect the business. Netsolutions will minimise risk through our Security Management Services. To find out more about these offerings please contact us.
